Let’s talk about books, storytelling, and illustration.
I love sharing my passion for storytelling and illustration with students of all ages! I also love speaking with educators and librarians about using graphic novels in the classroom, and offer workshops for adults on creating comics of their own. My author visits are engaging, educational, and tailored to inspire creativity.
What to Expect
Interactive Presentations: I provide interactive presentations where I share the journey of creating a graphic novel, from brainstorming ideas to final illustrations. Students will get a behind-the-scenes look at my creative process and learn about the hard work and fun involved in making a book. I like students to bring pencil and paper so they can try writing and drawing comics of their own.
Workshops: I offer hands-on graphic novel workshops where students can go deeper on the tools of making comics, and complete their own autobiographical comic strip. These workshops are best for a classroom-sized group of kids 8 and older.
Q&A Sessions: I love answering questions! Whether students are curious about the writing and illustrating process, the life of an author, or how to overcome creative blocks, I'm here to share my experiences and insights.
